2nd Quarter 2022

01. OUR NEW BALTIMORE OFFICE

We are thrilled to announce our new baltimore headquarters located at the redwood exchange in the historic downtown area. This new space will allow us to continue to serve the community and work on new exciting projects.

02. PROJECT OF THE MONTH: GOLDEN BEACH

Golden Beach: Miami-Dade Country, FL

The Golden Beach project is the first of its kind with its unique safety emergency relief features. There is no other barrier island region in the nation where emergency teams can safely ride out a storm. The Golden Beach bunker allows emergency teams to provide immediate assistance to those still there. Typically, it could take days or even weeks to reach those in need. Recently, the project had it’s tree topping ceremony! An exciting tradition of placing a tree at the highest point of the building. The significance of topping out is believed to date back to pre-dark age Scandinavia, where folklore suggests the practice of placing a tree on top of a new building to appease the tree dwelling spirits.

03. BUILD A HOUSE, BUILD A DREAM

This past month our own Dan McCauley judged his 18th Habitat for Humanity: Build a House, Build a Dream competition. This annual competition provides a creative space for 5th graders to build model homes with everything from legos to pinecones and learning the importance of affordable housing along the way!

04. A MARTIN STUDY

We conducted a study…kinda

Architect by trade, researcher by Linkedin, Dan McCauley, conducted an experiment by polling our Linkedin network to learn what they think of when they see “The Martin Architectural Group” and the results are in!
