HUNT VALLEY TOWNE CENTRE

Redevelopment of a failed mall site into a lifestyle center began by demolishing the center section of an existing structure while maintaining a dramatic grade change and major east and west anchors. The two-story buildings with outdoor retail centered on a landscaped inner courtyard are scaled and planned around the pedestrian to enhance the walk-ability of the project. The project was constructed mainly with tilt-up concrete panels.

The location of the mall outside of Baltimore, the light rail station access on site, and the first Wegmann’s grocer in the region provided the ingredients for this highly successful transit oriented design of a mall re-visioning.
